Reception Venues in Queens

Astoria World Manor - Google Image
So, I meant to blog about this previously. The FH and I visited the Astoria World Manor location about two weeks back. I must say, I am pleased with the location and the place. We inquired about their food packages and they seem reasonable. You have the option of going with their food (they even try and find out if they can get some of the dishes you need) or you can pay for the hall and cater your own food. Totally awesome! We're definitely looking about 250+ people, therefore they offered us the Grand Ballroom which is on the 2nd Floor. The Ballroom is huge and can hold up to 1,000 people! So we are definitely looking at a HUGE dance floor! Well most of the family loves to dance and a spacious dance floor is definitely a plus, in our case. Also, they have some additional stuff they offer in their package which include linens, napkins, chair covers, etc. There's additional stuff you can purchase at an additional cost per person including ice sculpture, more food, etc.

This gets moved up to the top of my list because of these pros:

1) We are able to cater any food we want
2) They offer many package options to choose from in terms of pricing (depends on what you need/want)
3) They have a parking lot with valet!
4) The overall location is pleasant

Some cons to consider:
1) They have several other rooms - which means another party can be happening at the same time. Possibility of music interruptions, parking lot getting filled up, etc
2) I can't remember if there is a bathroom on the 2nd floor. Maybe there wouldn't be that many issues with the bathroom line.

Did anyone visit any place worth mentioning in the past two weeks? Any other ideas to add?

XOXO!
Vee
